Zware tijden voor woon- en modewinkels

ZEIST (ANP) - Meubelzaken en kledingwinkels kijken terug op een moeilijk 2012.

Voor de woonwinkels leverde afgelopen jaar 9,3 procent minder omzet op dan in 2011. In de modebranche liep de omzet met 6 procent terug, en in de schoendetailhandel was het omzetverlies 4,3 procent. Dat blijkt uit maandag gepubliceerde cijfers van brancheorganisatie CBW-MITEX.

To the contrary: interpreting the data is quite simple, which is why we made an explicit prediction: 'We urge readers to check the weekly status of the H.8 when it comes out every Friday night, and specifically line item 25 on page 18, as we have a sinking feeling that as the Fed creates $85 billion in reserves every month... it will do just one thing: hand the cash right over straight to still hopelessly insolvent European banks." So with Friday having come and gone, we did just the check we suggested. As the chart below shows, we were right.

Maar de afgelopen jaren vertoont de winkelomzet in heel Europa een dalende trend.

In december 2012 was de omzet 0,8% lager dan een maand eerder.

Ten opzichte van december 2011 was de totale winkelomzet in de 27 landen van de Europese Unie 2% lager. Als je alleen kijkt naar de landen van de eurozone dan daalde de winkelverkoop met 3,4% in één jaar tijd.
