Eens een weekje chinees nieuws

Onlangs kreeg ik in mijn email de laatste aflevering van Haagen Invest. Ik was mij er niet van bewust, maar blijkbaar had ik dit als prijs gewonnen, waarvoor dank. Uiteraard, nieuwsgierig van aard, heb ik eens doorgelezen, waar Marc Haagen het zoal over had. Een goede vond ik dat hij de afgelopen maand juni eens nader onder loep nam door diverse berichten in chronologische volgorde te plaatsen met al dan niet commentaar of artikelen. Natuurlijk richtte hij zich hierbij op vnl. berichten uit de westerse pers en ik kon me niet aan indruk onttrekken dat het over het algemeen deprimerend nieuws was.

Ook pasgeleden las ik het dagelijkse nieuwsbulletin van Goudportal, dat ik ook dagelijks in email ontvang. Een opmerking van Richard de Feber schoot mij toen door mijn gedachten, toen hij opmerkte in een van die bulletins dat er eigenlijk weinig positief nieuws te brengen viel.

Dat bracht mij ertoe eens te kijken naar het chinese nieuws van de laatste tijd en zowaar, die berichtgeving maakte in ieder geval een veel positiever indruk. Onderstaand een greep hieruit:

Het grote verschil met de westerse wereld is naar mijn idee de toch wel over het algemeen positieve toon van de berichtgeving. Natuurlijk worden de mensen hier ook niet over alles ingelicht, maar als we alleen eens kijken naar de vele bezoeken die de chinese regeringsleiders in de afgelopen maand hebben afgelegd en de vele bilaterale contacten, die of gestart of hernieuwd en uitgebouwd werden, dan is China wel erg hard bezig zijn invloedsfeer uit te breiden. Nog maar te zwijgen over de diverse landen waar China mee overeen is gekomen om de handelsactiviteiten af te wikkelen in andere valuta dan de US dollar.

China heeft blijkbaar besloten geen ontwikkelingshulp te verstrekken op de manier zoals we die hier in het Westen gewend zijn. D.w.z. de westerse wereld gaf geld en daar blijft het over het algemeen bij. De Chinezen bouwen havens en verdere infrastructuur, maar ook fabrieken in diverse landen, waardoor hun handelspositie op de wereldmarkt kan verbeteren. Tevens geven die bilaterale verdragen aan dat de soevereiniteit van die landen ook volledig wordt onderschreven. Geen dubbele agenda dus, zoals wij dat doen met onze bemoeienissen in o.a. het Midden-Oosten. Uiteraard doen ze dat niet voor niets. Wat de Chinezen hiermee winnen is toegang tot grondstoffen en voor hen strategisch belangrijke gebieden. Daarbij creëren ze tezelfdertijd afzetmarkten voor hun producten in die landen en regio in de toekomst. Laat ons vooral niet vergeten dat eigenlijk alles wat we in de westerse wereld kunnen maken, zij dat ook kunnen, maar dan wel goedkoper. En dat geldt natuurlijk niet alleen voor China maar ook voor de landen die door hen gesteund worden.

Het gevaar is natuurlijk wel, dat alles te snel gaat en China is er naar mijn idee nog niet helemaal aan toe om alleen de heerschappij van de VS te kunnen ondermijnen. Toch worden er op vele fronten grote stappen gezet. Het lijkt wel alsof we afstevenen op twee werelden in plaats van een.
